Planet
Every product leaves a footprint. Our job is to understand it, reduce it where we can, and speak honestly about the work still ahead.
Promotional products are physical things. They are made from materials, manufactured in facilities, packaged, transported, used, and eventually reused, recycled, stored, or discarded. That reality gives I.D. Me Promotions a responsibility to think carefully about environmental impact before a product ever reaches a client.
This is not about looking responsible. It is about building a company that can be proud of the choices it makes.
Where the Footprint Lives
As a distributor, we do not operate factories. The honest truth of our industry is that the large majority of a promotional product’s environmental footprint is created upstream — in raw materials and manufacturing — long before a product reaches us. Naming that plainly is the starting point for doing something real about it.
- Upstream — supplier factories
- Transport & freight
- Our own operations
Illustrative, not a measured I.D. Me figure. Across the apparel and hard-goods suppliers we reviewed, upstream materials and manufacturing routinely account for the overwhelming share of total emissions. Our leverage therefore lies where we actually have it: what we choose, how we ship, and what we ask suppliers to prove.
Our Planet commitment is built on practical stewardship: comply with applicable environmental laws and permits; conserve by reducing, reusing, replacing, and recycling; prevent activities that threaten people or the environment; communicate openly with stakeholders; and keep improving our own practices and the practices we expect from business partners.
Where We Focus
I.D. Me Promotions supports the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and has identified the UN Sustainable Development Goals where our business can have the greatest practical impact:
- SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- SDG 13: Climate Action
- SDG 14: Life Below Water
- SDG 15: Life On Land
Our Environmental Commitments
- Focus on what matters.
- We evaluate environmental priorities through both impact and practicality, so the changes we make can be sustained over time.
- Improve the supply chain.
- We rely on a trusted network of suppliers and continue working to verify that their environmental policies and practices meet the level our clients expect.
- Offer better product choices.
- We curate a clearly defined collection of lower-impact products and ask suppliers to document the claims behind them before we label them — described in full below.
- Reduce carbon emissions.
- Because we do not operate factories, the largest emissions connected to our business sit upstream in the products we buy and in shipping — so we focus on the levers we hold: favoring suppliers that set science-based targets, and reducing the impact of how we pack and ship.
- Minimize waste.
- We work to reduce waste sent to landfill and, where appropriate, offer products that are reusable, recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable.
- Collaborate for progress.
- Environmental responsibility is larger than any one distributor. We work with suppliers and industry partners to raise expectations across the promotional-products field.
How We Choose Lower-Impact Products
We do not call a product "sustainable." That word means too little and is too easily abused. Instead, we maintain a defined collection of lower-impact products, and a product earns its place only when the supplier can support the specific claim behind it. When a product carries an environmental certification, that certification belongs to the manufacturer who earned it — our job is to verify it and present it honestly.

In Our Own Operations
The footprint we most directly control is our own — our workplace and the way orders leave our hands. We hold ourselves to the same standard of honesty here: we report what we do, not what we wish.
Smarter shipping
Consolidating orders where we can and right-sizing packaging to cut waste and freight.
Lower-impact packaging
Reusing inbound cartons and moving toward recyclable, recycled-content materials.
Carbon-conscious freight
Where available, carbon-offset shipping — with a plain explanation of what it does and does not cover.
Workplace practices
Efficient lighting, recycling of cardboard and electronics, and waste reduction in our facilities.
At the End of Life
A promotional product that ends up in a landfill helps no one — and our industry has a real problem with branded items that outlive their usefulness. We try to start further back: by helping clients choose durable, genuinely useful items people keep, and by pointing recipients toward responsible ways to give a product a second life.
01
Choose to last
Favor useful, durable products over disposable swag.
02
Reuse & repurpose
Keep good products in service — and out of the bin.
03
Recycle responsibly
Clear guidance on how to recycle or dispose of items at end of life.
No Greenwashing
Our environmental communications must be honest. We will not make claims we cannot support, and we will not dress up ordinary business as extraordinary progress. Three rules keep us honest:
Rule 01
We attribute
Product certifications — recycled, organic, FSC, bluesign — belong to the manufacturers who earn them. We report those claims; we never present them as our own.
Rule 02
Offsets aren't reductions
If a shipping option is carbon-offset, we say so and name what it covers. We do not call our operations "carbon neutral."
Rule 03
Goals aren't achievements
We keep what we aim to do clearly separate from what we have already done.
